Wednesdays in the Tower by Jessica Day George
Celie is back with another adventure in the Castle Glower. Just when Celie gets her atlas of the castle finished and copies made for her family, the Castle starts doing crazy things. It adds another tower. When Celie goes up to see what’s there, she finds a large orange egg. What hatches from that egg? A mythical griffin. Celie decides to bring the griffin, which she
names Rufus, to her room and take care of it. Every time she tries to tell her family about the griffin, the castle stops her. Celie with the help of her brother Rolf discover that griffins must have played an important role in the history of Castle Glower. But what? Does it have anything to do with crazy changes that the castle is doing?
This is a fairy tale on a whole new level. This book was even better than the first because the castle was playing tricks on Celie from the beginning. This one also ends with a cliffhanger. I can’t wait to read the next
book!
