The Menagerie by Tui T. Sutherland
The Menagerie is a great cross between the larger than life underworld
animals of Gregor the Overlander and the mythology of Percy
Jackson. Set in the little town of Xanadu, Montana, new kid in town, Logan
finds himself helping locate six runaway baby griffins! Being the new kid
in town, Logan will do anything just to fit in even if it means helping the
strangest girl in the 7th grade. What he discovers, besides a baby griffin
hiding in his bedroom, is the magical place filled with dragons, unicorns and
mermaids… A place his new friend, Zoe Khan, not only calls The Menagerie, but
also calls home. But, is there something else going on that the kids aren’t aware of? What is SNAPA looking for and how does his mother’s disappearance fit in with all of this? Unfortunately, we’re all going to have to wait for the next book to unlock the answers to some of these questions.
This book had me laughing out loud and reading as I walked down the sidewalk. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this made for elementary age kids’ book and I can’t wait for the next book in this new series to be
published.
